We offer both free in-home & remote consultations to accommodate our customer’s preferences. Let us know your choice, and we will arrange the meeting accordingly (*we give a 15% discount if you choose remote consultations via Zoom).
A consultation with a Designer usually lasts 1 to 2 hours. The Designer will show you all of our products, closet models, photographs of our work, and samples of materials & finishes. The Designer will take a complete inventory of the items you want to store in that area and, working with you, design the perfect system to meet your needs & desires.
Our Designer will listen to your needs, showcase our products and materials, and discuss design options. We encourage you to share your ideas and ask any questions you have. Our goal is to create a custom closet design that exceeds your expectations.
After the free consultation, our team will create a detailed design proposal based on your specifications. The time frame depends on the complexity, but we strive to provide it within 1-2 business days (manufacturing takes 1-2 weeks).
After you have reviewed & approved the design proposal, we will move forward with finalizing the details, scheduling the installation, and ordering the necessary materials. Our team will keep you informed throughout the process and ensure a smooth and seamless experience.

The duration of the design process can vary depending on the complexity of the project, closet & customer needs, and your responsiveness in providing feedback. On average, we can provide design from 1-2 business days, to 1-2 weeks, depending on complexity of design (manufacturing takes 1-2 weeks).

Yes. We utilize advanced design software to provide 3D renderings and visualizations of your custom closet design. It allows you to have a realistic preview of the final result and make any necessary adjustments before proceeding with the installation.
Installation process
Our professional installation team will handle the installation of your custom closet. We will follow the precise design plan and ensure each component is installed correctly and securely. Our team is experienced and skilled in delivering high-quality installations.
Our installation time frame typically ranges from 10 days to 2 weeks. We will try to accommodate your specific timeline requirements. You can discuss any rush job requests with your Designer before purchasing. Please note that the selected materials may impact installation dates, especially when ordering specialty items.
The design, materials, and specialty items can dictate how many days the project will need for installation. Smaller closets, that are $4,000 or less, are usually installed in one day. Larger orders and complex designs take longer. Our installers are thoroughly trained and courteous. When done, the unit will be clean and ready to use.
Yes. We have a team of licensed & experienced installers trained to handle the installation of custom closets. They have the expertise to ensure that your closet is installed with precision and attention to detail.
We follow industry best practices and installation guidelines to ensure every installation is done correctly & securely. Our installers have the necessary skills and knowledge to handle different closet configurations and materials.
Yes. Whether it’s a wall or wall-based unit, we secure it to the wall. Our installation process includes securely attaching the unit to the wall, ensuring that it is properly anchored for long-lasting support.
Absolutely! Our installation team will clean up any debris or packaging materials, leaving your home tidy and ready to enjoy your new custom closet.
We recommend that you or a selected representative be present during the installation to ensure that everything is to your satisfaction. However, we can do the installation when you’re not at home. Whatever suits you.
Yes. Once the installation is complete, our team will provide you with instructions on how to maintain & care for your custom closet. It includes guidance on cleaning, organizing, and handling specific features or accessories.
Warranty & Materials
MDF Closets uses only the finest quality materials. All vertical panels and shelving are made from 3⁄4″ material or greater. Drawer boxes are constructed of 1⁄2″ material or greater. Drawer slides are always full extension and rated for 100 lbs. Our everyday standards are considered an upgrade by most closet companies.

Absolutely! We offer a variety of material options for your custom closet. You can choose from a range of finishes, including wood veneers, laminates, and melamine, to suit your style and preferences.
Certainly! We understand the importance of seeing and feeling the materials. We provide samples of the materials and finishes so that you can visualize how they will look in your space.
Yes. We offer the flexibility to request specific finishes & colors for your custom closet. We have a wide amount of color finishes, but we can’t make custom colors.
Yes. You can request custom hardware or accessories for your closet. We offer a wide selection of options to enhance the functionality & aesthetics of your storage solution.
We choose materials that are durable & easy to clean and maintain. Our materials are designed to resist stains and scratches, making them convenient for everyday upkeep. You can enjoy a beautiful and functional closet without worrying about extensive maintenance.
It can vary from 14” to 24”. But the most common depth is 14”. This depth allows for the best balance between closet space, room space, and reach-in convenience.
The drawers’ internal dimensions are slightly less than 14” to account for the drawer backing.
We offer an impressive 15-year warranty for all parts of your custom closet, providing you peace of mind and assurance of long-lasting durability. If you have any issues, please email support@modularclosets.com.
*This warranty excludes any defects from intentional damage, negligence, reinstallation, or relocation of the system after installation or unreasonable use or exposure.
Pricing & Payment
Because our closets are so customized, the cost depends on what you choose. You can fully control the cost to fit your budget. We are happy to send a Designer to your home or meet online for a free consultation. Once your design is complete, we will provide you with the total cost.
Yes. We offer free remote or in-home consultations & estimates for our custom closets. We believe in providing personalized solutions, and our experienced designers will assess your space and discuss your requirements.
The price of a closet includes the design, materials, manufacturing, installation, and any necessary hardware or accessories. We aim to provide a comprehensive package that covers all aspects of creating your custom closet.
You’ll be sure there are no surprise costs or hidden fees. During the consultation process, we will provide you with a detailed breakdown of the pricing, including any additional options or upgrades you may choose.
Yes. You can email your designs to us for a quote. However, we highly recommend scheduling a free consultation with our Designer, either in person or remotely. During the consultation, Designer will review your design, provide expert advice, and offer suggestions to enhance it. This consultation is completely free of charge and without any obligations.
